This morning I visited P3′s Musikhjälpen, or “the music help”, if you’d translate it. This year they are collecting money so that girls worldwide can go to school. They’re auctioning out all sorts of stuff, and I’m on sale as a singing teacher! Highest bidder will have a full lesson with me. Bidding takes place on Swedish E-bay, Tradera. Here’s where to place your bid. Read below, in Swedish only I’m afraid, why it’s important to support girls right to go to school.

Här är några anledningar till att det är viktigt att se till att flickor världen över ska ha rätt att gå i skola:

- Mer än 50 miljoner flickor får aldrig möjlighet att gå i skolan – trots att det är en mänsklig rättighet

- Varje dag stannar miljontals flickor hemma med hushållsarbete istället för att gå i skolan

- En flicka som inte utbildas riskerar att hamna i extrem fattigdom, bli bortgift eller tvingas till prostitution

- En flicka som fått gå i skolan tar bättre hand om både sig själv och sina barn.

- Många flickor går inte i skolan på grund av risken för våldtäkt eller andra övergrepp, antingen på vägen till eller i skolan.

- För varje avslutat skolår ökar en kvinnas lön med ca 20%

- Två tredjedelar av världens analfabeter är kvinnor

- Att ge en flicka en utbildning är att rädda liv

- En flicka som inte går klart grundskolan löper 10 gånger så stor risk att bli tonårsförälder jämfört med en flicka som gått grundskolan

DEC 18th: NO SILENCE! Very important!

Next Sunday, Dec 18th, NO SILENCE! is being held at Berns, Stockholm. It’s a fundraiser concert that has been initiated and set together by artist Asha Ali, who also will host the night. Tickets are 275 SEK each and are sold at ticnet.se. The entire amount from ticket sales will go to the Panzi Hospital in eastern Kongo, where they have specialized in treating victims of sexual violence. Jennie will be playing, and so will Jenny Wilson, Ane Brun, Deportees, Masquer and Peter Morén (of Peter, Bjorn & John).

Jennie in Hamburg & Berlin this coming week!

Already tomorrow, Monday Dec 5th, Jennie will be in Hamburg for some interviews and a mini instore solo gig at the Weekdays store on Mönckebergstr. 22. It will start at 15.00! On Tuesday, Dec 6th, she will do the same in Berlin. At the Weekdays store, Friedrichstr. 140, at 17.00.

The same night, Tuesday Dec 6th, she will so a solo showcase show at the HBC, Karl-Liebknecht-strasse 9, Berlin. This starts at 22.00.

The GSA release of “The Sound of you beating heart” is scheduled for January 27th! The single “Hard to come by” is starting to get plays on german radio, playlisted from this week at WDR 2 and several college radio stations. Today also sees the release of the German dates of the spring tour. Here’s where to see Jennie:
